AOC is making a concerted effort to reduce our environmental footprint. Our manufacturing facilities don’t just meet government guidelines for environmental safety and compliance—they surpass them.
Using the Six Sigma Lean philosophy, AOC has realized improved efficiencies: leaner manufacturing through reduced fossil fuel consumption, reduced emissions and reduced waste. Sustainability-driven, green manufacturing practices include:
- thermal oxidation of emissions which exceed environmental regulations
- engineering efficiencies to eliminate production bottlenecks
- design upgrades that reduce emissions in the workplace and environment
- exacting proprietary control of the resin-making process
- the world’s largest unsaturated resin reactor which maximizes manufacturing efficiencies.
Taking the LEED® in Green Operations
AOC’s focus on sustainability is also demonstrated at our World Headquarters. This LEED Silver certified building is 30% more water and energy efficient than similar non-LEED buildings, thanks to forward-thinking design and construction features like:
- A geothermal HVAC system
- Building materials with recycled or renewable content
- Regionally produced construction materials & certified wood
- Pollution prevention during construction
- Low-emitting sealants, paints & construction materials
- A reflective roof which eliminates heat buildup
